Q. Does the Sailboat Exchange arrange the exchange
of my boat for another boat?
A. No. The Sailboat Exchange merely provides you with the
email address of other members who would like to exchange their
boat. You must work out the details and time of the exchange. When
you join Sailboat Exchange we send you a set of Exchange guidelines
to help you. You choose if and when you want to exchange. Some have
exchanged for 1 day or a week, with or without the owner on board.
Q. How many times am I allowed to make exchanges
and request other members email addresses?
A. You may make as many exchanges as you like; there is
no limit to the number of email address you may request. However
we only send a maximum of eight addresses at a time. If you need
more just send in another request.
Q. You don't have many boats listed. Why?
A. The Sailboat Exchange is just getting started. We have
over 150 members and growing. Your support in sharing this site
with your sailing association/clug is greatly appreciated.
Q. How much does it cost to join and what do I
receive as a member?
A. The yearly membership is $25.00, and includes the posting
of a photo of your boat. Remember, a photo is worth a thousand words.
Your membership gives you two things:
-
Your boat and its description are listed on our site as being
available for exchange. Think of this as paying $25 to charter
a sailboat.
-
You get "members only" email addresses of other members so
you can arrange an exchange.
Q. I really don't want to let someone else use my boat.
Can I join the Sailboat Exchange with the provision that I will
accompany the person I am swapping boats with?
A. Yes you can join the Sailboat Exchange. The arrangements
for your exchange with another person are entirely up to you. There
are many benefits you could provide by an exchange of this type.
Q. I'm not sure how long my e-mail address will be active?
A. May we suggest that you obtain and use a free e-mail
account (hotmail, yahoo, etc.) so that we can always process exchange
requests in a timely manner. .
